2011 Ford Focus C-Max - Click above for high-res image gallery
Ford has just released some photos and information on the next generation C-Max which will be shown in a couple of weeks at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The C-Max is the tall wagon MPV variant of the Focus that has been available in Europe for some time. There will eventually be two different variants, the shorter five-passenger version shown here and a longer three-row, seven-passenger model.
The big news is that when the C-Max goes into production in the second half of next year it will be among the first vehicles to use the 1.6-liter EcoBoost four cylinder. The 1.6-liter will likely be rated at somewhere in the 170-180 hp range. That engine will spread across many of the compact to mid-size vehicles in Ford's global lineup, including the new Focus also coming next year and probably the next gen Fusion/Mondeo. The good news is that we are getting the new Focus here in North America and at least one of the C-Max variants. The C-Max is likely to form the basis of Ford's upcoming passenger EV that debuts in 2011.
